Facultative task for the «Software Testing: Basics and Practice» course

It is well known that the effectiveness of the learning process depends on the ability to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

For students who want to earn extra points, we have prepared an additional facultative assignment:

1. Install XAMPP web server. Take a screenshot of the control panel interface and add it to the first question of the test.
2. Create a website on one of the CMS of your choice: Joomla or Drupal. Take a screenshot of the website and add it to the second question of the test.
3. The screenshots confirming the task completion must include the system date and time of the task completion. On the screenshot with the website, you must show the address bar with the name in the "name.surname" format. The screenshot extensions must be ".png", ".jpeg", or ".jpg". Attached files in other formats will not be evaluated.

Please note that this task is not mandatory, so no hints, help, or feedback will be provided. Each task can be rated up to 5 points. Thus, the total number of extra points can be 10. You can start working on the facultative assignment after Lecture #7.

Questions that may arise while working on the elective:

1. What is a facultative assignment? Is the task mandatory?

The elective is not mandatory, but the points will be taken into account in the overall result. Thus, you can earn extra points that will be counted towards obtaining a certificate.

2. Will this task be checked and sent for revision in case of errors?

This task will be checked after the course is finished, and it will not be sent for revision. The maximum grade for each task is 5 points, for a total of 10 points.

3. Are there any nuances to completing the task?

If any of the task requirements are not met, it will not be evaluated.

4. What are the deadlines for completing this task?

The task can be completed until 6:00 PM on the last day of the course.

5. Where else can I read the task requirements?

The task requirements are described in the facultative assignment, which is displayed in the personal account in the «Tests» section after the seventh lecture.

6. Where should I add screenshots of the completed task?

You should add the screenshots to the corresponding questions of the facultative assignment in your personal account in the «Tests» section.
