Description (short) The course presupposes the participants to obtain the theoretical knowledge of the software testing, practical experience working with the bugs, test cases, check-lists, and also obtaining the skills of working with the tester’s basic tools, such as “Mantis bug-tracker’’ system and “TestRail” a web based test management system.

By taking part in our online course you will have an opportunity to work with  the must-have array of tools of the tester, such as “Mantis bug-tracker” system and “TestRail” a web based test management  system.


After the course you’ll be able to 


  • identify the  bug in the software tested;

  • state / form the correct bug reports and work with them;

  • work with the “Mantis” bug-tracker system;

  • master the peculiarity of the testing the mobile software;

  • use the game testing techniques and methods;

  • form the test cases in the “TestRail” a web based test management  system;

  • create the test plans;

  • get acquainted with the  process of the test planning and test design techniques.


To successfully pass the course you don’t need to have any specific knowledge of the software testing  or to have a higher education. Anyone can apply and pass the course regardless of the field of the job or education. A great pro will be the Intermediate level of English as well as the proficient computing skills. During the studying you’ll need to use some of the browsers (Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer) and graphic editor to take and edit screenshots. 


At the moment the length of the “Software Testing: Basics and Practice” course is 4 weeks which includes the theoretical materials studying and doing homework. To pass the course successfully you only need 2-3 hours during the day to do the hometask after every lecture.


Online course “Software Testing: Basics and Practice” consists of the 8 lectures, 8 practical tasks and the final exam: 


Lecture 1. What is a bug (defect)? Practice: Writing a bug report.


Lecture 2. Web projects testing. Practice: Writing the bug report. Layout checklist


Lecture 3. Approaches to the Functional Testing. Practice: Bug report design, functional check-list writing, description of the types of testing.


Lecture 4. Software Testing Life Cycle. Practice: Test Plan design, Bug report design.


Lecture 5. Test Design. Test Cases. Practice: Test case and Bug report design.


Lecture 6. Mobile application testing. Practice: Mobile app and website testing checklist and bug report design.


Lecture 7. Game testing. Practice: Game bug reports design. 


Lecture 8. Employment tips. Practice: Creating a resume and LinkedIn profile.


Final exam.


The lectures are held online from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. EET


By the successful passing of the course, you will receive the certificate!
